Family traditions are an engaging way to make your wedding day memorable and fun. They are also a dynamic way to create magnificent images for your album. Our groom's family had two wonderful traditions that were implemented in this wedding. The first one was to request the bride and groom to kiss during the reception by asking guests to sing a verse of a song that contained the word love in it. The bridesmaids got the party started by singing "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" by Elton John and the serenades continued throughout dinner. The second tradition was an advanced and quite competitive version of limbo. Our extremely tall groom, Alex, shared his undefeated title with his sister after betting each and every single wedding guest.   Katelyn and Alex's wedding was held at the beautiful Incarnate Word Chapel. Their Reception was held at the prestigious Plaza Club, where DJ Josh Brockman with What's the Event guided events planned by Wedding Coordinator Lisa Morales with Haute Weddings. Sweet Traditions created the bride's beautiful four tier cake and Evember created the flower arrangements.

I still remember the first time I met Kelly; It was during her brother Curtis' wedding. Every time I looked I her, all I could think about was "I really hope she picks us the day she gets married because she will sure make a stunning bride." I guess fate was kind to me, because that same day, Kelly approached us and whispered that, the day she got married, she would choose us to be her wedding photographers. We were honored to be chosen by this amazing family once more five years after. Kelly and Jacob had their wedding ceremony at the Oak Island UMC and their wedding reception was held at the wonderful Republic Golf. The party was turned on by Holtz entertainment and the evening was made sweeter by KC Sprinkles. I guess I was right, Kelly did make a stunning bride and we could not be happier for her and her family!

One of the aspects that photographers want most, more than anything...more than the best equipment, or a vibrant couple, or even more money, is TIME.  Photographers need time to capture all the romantic and memory worthy shots that truly tell your love story.  As funny as it sounds, it is important to build TIME into your wedding day time line.  Time allows a photographer to look at the big picture, adjust for lighting, view different angles, and scope out interesting backgrounds.

When interviewing our couples for photo shots, 5 categories seem to apply:  Ceremony, Candids, Formals, Reception, and Romantics.  Can you guess which category couples choose as their most important?  The Romantics.  It is difficult, if not impossible to capture romantic shots during the ceremony and reception.  Most romantics are taken with the couple by themselves, without a lot of guests watching and snapping their own cell phone pics.  Romantics are a time alone for just the couple to take in their wedding day, the celebration occuring, the union they have become, and just breathe.  It's the photo that gets blown up and sets on their bed side table, the one that captures the entire wedding day in one frame.  The one photo that they turn to that re-ignites the love between them.
